About this Lowbed Semi-Trailer

Our lowbed semi-trailer uses a drop-deck (double-drop) gooseneck frame that sinks the load platform close to the ground for oversized and overweight cargo. Built in Liangshan — China's trailer manufacturing hub — every unit is engineered to meet the road, dimension and axle-load regulations of your destination country, so it is legal to register and operate on local highways.

Fixed, removable (RGN) or hydraulic-detachable (HDG) goosenecks and optional hydraulic ramps adapt it to excavators, transformers and other heavy equipment.

Other Common Sizes & Configurations

Beyond the standard build, we make these Lowbed Semi-Trailer variants to match different cargo and local road rules — all sizes, axle counts and capacities listed above are configurable to your specification:

  • 11–13 m × 2.5–3.0 m — 2/3-axle, 35–100 t; most common heavy-haul build
  • 13–17.5 m extendable — for long transformers and wind blades
  • 850–1,150 mm deck — standard lowbed platform height
  • 3-axle 45–100 t — mid-range construction equipment
  • Multi-axle / SPMT — 150 t+ modular heavy transport

How the Lowbed Semi-Trailer Compares

Not sure which trailer type fits your cargo? Here is how the Lowbed Semi-Trailer differs from close alternatives.

vs Flatbed Semi-Trailer

Lowbed drops the deck to 450–1,150 mm for over-height and overweight machinery; the Flatbed Semi-Trailer keeps a high flat deck (1.2–1.55 m) for standard cargo.

vs Fence Semi-Trailer

Lowbed has no rails and loads heavy equipment via ramps; the Fence Semi-Trailer uses stake rails for loose, ventilated bulk.

vs Car Carrier Semi-Trailer

Lowbed carries one oversized machine on a low deck; the Car Carrier Semi-Trailer has multi-level decks for multiple finished vehicles.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the lead time for a Lowbed Semi-Trailer?
Standard configurations ship in 30–45 days; HDG, extendable or multi-axle builds may take longer. We confirm the exact date in the proforma invoice.
Do you handle shipping to my country?
Yes. We ship FOB Qingdao or CIF to major ports in Africa, the Middle East and South America, and can arrange container, RORO or bulk shipment.
Can the trailer be customized?
Yes. Gooseneck type (FGN/RGN/HDG), axle count, deck length, width and hydraulic ramps are all adjustable.
What is the difference between a lowbed and a flatbed?
A lowbed drops the deck to 450–1,150 mm for over-height loads; a flatbed keeps a high deck (1.2–1.55 m) for standard cargo and containers.
How low can the deck go?
Standard lowbed decks sit 850–1,150 mm; with a depressed well they can reach about 450 mm for the tallest allowable loads.
Can a lowbed carry a 100-ton transformer?
Yes. Multi-axle and modular (SPMT-style) configurations handle 100 t+; we engineer axle spacing to your road rules.
What gooseneck type should I choose?
Fixed gooseneck is simplest; RGN/HDG detachable goosenecks let tracked equipment load from the front — best for frequent heavy-machine moves.
Is the lowbed legal for road use?
Every unit is engineered to meet the deck-height, axle-load and width limits of your destination country's road regulations. We confirm the configuration against your local rules before shipment.
Which suspension is better — mechanical or air?
Mechanical leaf is the robust default for heavy haul; air ride is optional where load protection matters on finished surfaces.
